ChangePoint Integrated Health's Winslow clinic on East 2nd Street provides outpatient counseling and psychiatric care for children and adults, including psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring. ChangePoint has served Navajo County since 1966 and also runs a 16-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital handling more than 5,000 bed stays a year, so someone whose needs escalate can be admitted within the same organization rather than referred out of the county. It states that it will not refuse services because a person cannot pay, or because payment would come from Medicare, Medicaid or CHIP. Medicaid, Medicare, private and military insurance, state funding and public assistance are accepted, with a sliding fee schedule.

Outpatient Rehab

Liberation Programs' Stamford clinic provides outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for substance use and mental health conditions, including opioid use disorder. The agency began in Stamford in 1971 — Liberation House was its first site — and now runs services in Bridgeport, Greenwich, Norwalk, Stamford and Westport, working with adolescents, men, women and families. It says most of the people it serves are on Medicaid and that services are provided regardless of ability to pay: staff help clients obtain coverage through the Affordable Care Act, check eligibility for state and federal benefits, offer a self-pay sliding scale and, in limited circumstances, provide scholarship treatment. Scholarship beds may be available for people with opioid use disorder whose insurance will not cover inpatient care, and the organization has beds for women and children.
