Residents of Arkansas can benefit from insurance parity legislation, which means that insurance providers are required to offer equal funding of treatment for mental health and substance abuse needs. Under the Affordable Care Act, federal law demands that insurance companies recognize medically needed behavioral health treatment as equally important to physical health treatments.
For those in Arkansas without insurance and without the means to fund a private stay of care, there are low cost and free options available (see below) and you may also be entitled to state-funded care (see governmental resources).
Drug addiction and alcoholism bring pain and suffering – drug rehab ends it. You don’t need to recover alone and drug treatment really works. Find a drug rehab that you’re comfortable with, find one that matches your beliefs and needs (Christian drug rehab, holistic drug rehab, long term drug rehab) and get into a place of therapy and sanctuary. Relearn just how good a life free from drugs and alcohol can be.
The Division of Behavioral Health Services provides the majority of direct mental health services throughout the State by contracting with 13 community mental health centers (CMHCs) and 3 specialty clinics. DBHS staff are available for consultation and education regarding behavioral health issues. Please call to inquire about the substance abuse treatment services that you may be entitled to, even if you do not qualify for Medicaid.
