How we make money

Treatment facilities can pay a flat monthly fee for an enhanced Featured Listing in our directory. That fee is the same whether the listing gets one visitor or ten thousand — it is paid for the placement itself. Featured listings are labeled as advertising: an “Ad” marker on every listing card, and a “Featured” badge on the facility's own page.

A Featured Listing for a US addiction-treatment center is sold as a flat monthly fee — not per call, not per lead, not per admission. We use flat fees rather than compensation tied to calls, leads or admissions, which reduces referral-linked financial incentives and supports our compliance approach — EKRA (18 U.S.C. § 220) is the statute in the background, and it turns on remuneration for or to induce referrals. The practical effect for you: what we earn does not change with whether you contact any particular center, or enroll anywhere. Fees tied to admissions are how some referral services end up steering people toward whoever pays most, and flat pricing removes that incentive.

Payment affects placement and presentation only. It never changes our reviews, our editorial content, or the ranking of the unpaid facilities that appear alongside paid ones. A facility cannot pay to alter its rating or to have a negative review removed.

A paid listing carries an Ad marker wherever it appears in search results, a Featuredbadge on its own page, and that page states that the facility pays for placement. If you don't see those, the facility hasn't paid us for that placement.

A phone number shown on a facility's listing reaches that facility. Numbers we publish elsewhere on the site are free public resources — 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) and the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) — which are free, confidential, and not operated by us. You can also browse the directory without calling anyone.
