What gets published
People come to ChooseHelp for authoritative, helpful answers about mental health and addiction. To keep quality high, every article is reviewed by our editorial team before it goes live. To get published, an article should be:
- Helpful — answers a specific question, aids a decision, or moves the reader to take a positive step.
- Well written and free of grammar / spelling mistakes.
- Original — previously unpublished work you hold the copyright on.
- On-topic — fits one of the umbrella categories in our Recovery A–Z section.
- A reasonable length for online reading (roughly 500–1,500 words).
- Accurate and authoritative — cites sources where appropriate, and makes clear when you’re writing from personal experience or opinion.
Less likely to be published: opinion / editorial pieces (like a blog post) and very general encyclopedia-style overviews.
