I only make myself throw up after I really pig out, like after Pizza hut buffet. How can this be so dangerous when I only do it 1 day a week or 2 days because it is not like I am making myself throw up after every meal. I am not fat and I want to stay that way so what is the big deal it is not like I am starving myself to death or anything like that!

William Anderson Says...

Throwing up occasionally may not seem to look dangerous, but neither does smoking crack or heroin. It's hard to understand the power of these diseases and disorders until you've invited them into your life, they have taken over, and you can't get rid of them. Eating disorders, like the one you are playing with, can be lethal. If you don't stop, there is a good chance that in a short while, you'll feel compelled to throw up many times every day and can't stop it. You're teeth will be eaten away from the stomach acid in your mouth. People will wonder why you're going to the bathroom all the time and look at you funny. You might lose weight to the point where you need to be put into the hospital. You could die from it. Get busy on your computer and learn more about Bulimia Nervosa and Anorexia Nervosa from reliable medical sources. You are playing with fire. You need to stop if you can. If you can't, ask to see a counselor that specializes in eating disorders. I'll be thinking about you and I wish you good luck. It sounds like you may have caught it in time.
