Youth & Family Services of North Central Oklahoma was founded in 1974 to provide emergency shelter for children affected by abuse, neglect and delinquent behavior, at a time when the Garfield County jail was the only temporary shelter available to them. From its West Oxford Street base in Enid it now runs an emergency youth shelter, outpatient counseling and intensive outpatient services, a partnership with Enid Public Schools, and the treatment arm of Garfield County's specialty courts — the adult drug court running since 2004 and the juvenile drug court since 2000.
