The agency runs a full continuum in which each client is assigned a treatment team from detoxification through residential care to outpatient treatment, with separate residential programs for men and women, medication-assisted treatment, and outpatient care that typically runs two to four months. Metrocare is also the local IDD authority, which means its staff enroll eligible people into Medicaid programs and onto the state Medicaid waiver interest lists — a wait that can run over a decade, so getting on it early matters. Accepted coverage includes Medicaid, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Magellan, Scott & White, TRICARE through Humana and UnitedHealthcare, along with Medicare, military insurance and state funding.
