The program is secular and MAT-friendly — medication for opioid use disorder is not a barrier to taking part — and it is led by people with their own lived experience of addiction and mental illness. It works particularly with people moving away from both addiction and incarceration. Payment can be made through Medicare or military coverage.

Alleghany Highlands Community Services has been Covington's community services board since 1983 — one of forty established under the Code of Virginia — providing outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders to adults and children alike. Substance-using pregnant women and women with dependent children are seen within 48 hours of asking, and interim counseling is provided to priority populations while they wait for a residential, detox or intensive outpatient place to open. Information about services is published in English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese. State funding, Medicaid, Medicare and private or military insurance are all accepted.

Megan's House is a long-term residential treatment program for women aged 18 to 30 in Lowell, Massachusetts, run by The Megan House Foundation with a stated emphasis on individual dignity, self-respect and empowerment. Treatment is holistic and addresses substance use disorders together with co-occurring mental health conditions, and the foundation says the residential program has immediate openings with referrals taken by phone. Graduates can step down into the foundation's two sober living homes for women 18 and over - Erin's House and Emma's House, the latter named in memory of a Megan's House graduate - just outside Lowell. It occupies a 1910 elementary schoolhouse that has been renovated for the purpose, and combines residential care with partial hospitalization programming, treating depression, PTSD, dissociative and personality disorders and the effects of domestic abuse alongside addiction; infrared sauna and holistic supplements sit beside the therapy. Medicaid is accepted — both traditional and TAM — along with Medicare, private insurance including Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, SelectHealth, PEHP and TRICARE, and state funding.

Buffalo Plains Recovery provides ASAM 3.7 medically supervised detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care from a quiet residential facility on East Fairlane Drive in Rapid City, with same-day admissions available. The program treats alcohol, opioid, stimulant and benzodiazepine dependence and offers medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder; it is licensed by the South Dakota Department of Social Services and accredited by the Joint Commission. South Dakota Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, along with most major insurers including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna and TRICARE.

Treatment begins with a six-week evaluation and treatment program combining intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy, therapeutic community life, family work, and psychological testing, with patients meeting four times a week with the same clinician. POWER House is the residential recovery home of POWER - the Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery - on Church Street in Swissvale, part of an all-women continuum the organization describes as gender-responsive, built around how addiction and recovery differ for women. Alongside the house, POWER runs New Day outpatient therapy, peer-based recovery support for people in Allegheny County through POWER Connection, and POWER Restore, a 21-bed detox and rehabilitation program reopening at the POWER campus, where the clinical, medical and recovery-support team moves clients from withdrawal management into ongoing treatment. Anyone can call the POWER Line, including adults and adolescents and family members worried about someone else; recorded payment options include Medicare, military insurance and self-pay.
