Alongside residential treatment, the organization helps arrange placement and provides transport, which in rural Niagara County is often the practical obstacle rather than the willingness. Courage Center runs a 12 to 16 week intensive outpatient addiction treatment program in Gorham, Maine, for people on low incomes in recovery from substance use disorder. The program is secular and MAT-friendly — medication for opioid use disorder is not a barrier to taking part — and it is led by people with their own lived experience of addiction and mental illness.
