How long does it take to completely reverse the effects of opiate receptor down regulation after addiction? I am 4 months totally clean and life still seems more grey than I remember it before I started messing with pharmaceuticals. I am willing to wait I am just hoping that things are going to continue to get better?

Every bit of research I've seen demonstrates that detox and rehabilitation of the body lasts 12-18 months. My experience in watching folks go through early recovery is that it takes 30 days to get through the worst, 90 days to have something close to full functioning and six months before they're feeling "normal." Now - this all assumes that there are no underlying medical issues. If you've not seen a doctor I urge you to immediately. Also, don't be a passive person in recovery - look at what you can do with diet and nutrition to improve your healthy and mental acuity.

Congratulations on your recovery and keep it up!,
