Metrocare's Skillman Street clinic in north-east Dallas provides outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for substance use alongside mental health care, including an opioid treatment program with outpatient withdrawal management — so someone starting methadone or buprenorphine can do it here. Metrocare is a fifty-year-old Dallas County organization and the largest provider of mental health services in North Texas, reaching more than 55,000 people a year, with pharmacies, housing support, veterans services and intellectual and developmental disability services around the clinical work. Its substance use programs are person-centered and trauma-informed. Accepted coverage includes Medicaid, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Magellan, Scott & White, TRICARE through Humana and UnitedHealthcare, along with Medicare, military insurance and state funding.
