VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System

The North Las Vegas VA Medical Center is the main campus of the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, providing residential and intensive outpatient substance use treatment for veterans alongside medication-assisted treatment, an opioid treatment program and dual-diagnosis care for conditions such as PTSD — all inside a full hospital that also runs primary care, specialty services and an emergency department. Care is provided through VA benefits, and same-day help is available even without prior enrollment; the Veterans Crisis Line is reachable at any hour. Getting there is addressed too, which for a veteran in outpatient treatment is often the deciding factor: Veteran Transportation Services, DAV vans, the RTC Veterans Medical Transportation Network for senior and disabled veterans — which carries veterans traveling with oxygen, service animals or wheelchairs — and a reduced-fare RTC card for local veterans.
