About The Life Center of Connecticut
The Life Center of Connecticut, which trades as Youth Challenge, began in 1970 as a residential outreach center for men and women in the Greater Hartford area and now runs a men's residential center, a men's transitional program and outpatient services from May Street in Hartford, alongside Esther's Home, a sober-living house for fifteen women. Treatment integrates faith-based support with evidence-based clinical care, delivered by licensed clinicians, and the programs emphasize employment readiness, family support and community connection. Participants at Esther's Home are expected to take part in its faith-based activities, which is worth knowing before applying. Medicaid, Medicare, military insurance, state funding and self-pay are accepted.
