Liberation Programs – Stamford Outpatient Services

Liberation Programs' Stamford clinic provides outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for substance use and mental health conditions, including opioid use disorder. The agency began in Stamford in 1971 — Liberation House was its first site — and now runs services in Bridgeport, Greenwich, Norwalk, Stamford and Westport, working with adolescents, men, women and families. It says most of the people it serves are on Medicaid and that services are provided regardless of ability to pay: staff help clients obtain coverage through the Affordable Care Act, check eligibility for state and federal benefits, offer a self-pay sliding scale and, in limited circumstances, provide scholarship treatment. Scholarship beds may be available for people with opioid use disorder whose insurance will not cover inpatient care, and the organization has beds for women and children.
