About Denton County MHMR Center
Denton County MHMR Center is the county's mental health and intellectual and developmental disability authority, offering substance use treatment alongside adult and child mental health care as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Around-the-clock access runs through a 24/7 crisis line (1-800-762-0157, or 988) — accredited by the American Association of Suicidology and operated in partnership with MHMR of Tarrant County — and a 24-hour psychiatric triage facility. Specialist services include COPSD for people with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders, weekly groups, and vocational support. Fee schedules and the mental health rights handbook are published in Spanish as well as English. Medicaid, Medicare, private and military insurance, state funding and public assistance are accepted, with a published sliding scale.
