New York Treatment Centers — Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

THRIVE Wellness and Recovery is a not-for-profit formed in 2024 by the merger of Credo Community Center for the Treatment of Addictions — which had been treating addiction in northern New York for fifty years — and Transitional Living Services of Northern New York, which provided residential psychiatric rehabilitation. Its Lowville site runs an intensive outpatient program for substance use alongside mental health services, part of an organization that treats children, adolescents, adults, families and caregivers. THRIVE is certified by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports and by the Office of Mental Health, and its opioid treatment program is accredited by CARF. Payment can be made through Medicaid, Medicare, private or military insurance, or state funding.

Mountainside Chelsea is an outpatient addiction treatment center in Manhattan, part of the Mountainside Treatment Center network with locations across Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. The Chelsea location provides intensive outpatient programming (IOP) and individual counseling for adults struggling with alcohol and drug use, with evidence-based therapies including CBT and DBT. Mountainside is accredited by CARF and accepts most major private insurance plans.

Monarch is the outpatient addiction program of The Neighborhood Center in Utica, providing intensive outpatient treatment with medication-assisted treatment prescribed by licensed providers. The Neighborhood Center is one of Utica's oldest human-service organizations: it began in 1905 as a settlement house helping immigrants file citizenship papers, opened the city's first kindergarten by 1936, and took its present name in 1945 — so a client coming here for addiction treatment sits inside an agency that also runs childcare and family services. Medicare is accepted here, as are private and military insurance and state funding.

Samadhi Center Inc is a nonprofit intensive outpatient program in Kingston, New York, serving the Hudson Valley. The center takes a mindfulness-based, trauma-sensitive approach to addiction recovery, combining holistic treatment with peer recovery support services. Samadhi emphasizes a non-judgmental recovery community where individuals build support networks. The center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance.

Samaritan Medical Center is a 290-bed not-for-profit community hospital in Watertown, New York, serving the North Country's civilian and military communities since 1881. Its addiction services are delivered as an intensive outpatient program, alongside the hospital's wider inpatient and outpatient care. A financial assistance program is available to patients who are uninsured, underinsured or facing financial hardship. Medicaid, Medicare and private or military insurance are accepted, and state funding is available.
