Villa of Hope

Villa of Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Rochester offering residential treatment for chemical dependency, mental health and behavioral health concerns, including recovery from trauma. It works to the Sanctuary Model — a whole-organization approach to recovery from adversity — and in 2017 became formally Sanctuary Certified by the Andrus Sanctuary Institute, which is a commitment about how staff behave, not just what therapy is offered. Counseling in its behavioral health clinic starts from age five, and residential care is paired with a day school, care coordination and workforce development. The Villa traces its history to 1942, when Sisters and children moved onto farmland in Greece, New York. Coverage includes Medicaid and Medicare, private and military insurance, and state funding.
