First Step Center – Northpointe Council

First Step Center is Northpointe Council's residential withdrawal and stabilization program in Niagara Falls: 24 beds in all, seven of them medically supervised withdrawal beds and seventeen stabilization beds, staffed around the clock by nurses and counselors and offering both medical and non-medical detoxification. Northpointe Council is a not-for-profit human service organization governed by a board and membership, and it runs the wider service around this one — outpatient clinics treating adolescents and adults, and a Niagara Falls methadone program with early-morning dosing hours from 6am. Medication-assisted treatment for adults includes buprenorphine and Vivitrol. The organization states that services are covered by most insurances, with sliding-scale self-pay fees for people who are not covered.
