Chemical Addictions Recovery Effort

Chemical Addiction Recovery Effort (CARE) is a not-for-profit agency in Panama City providing prevention, intervention, residential treatment and recovery services, with detoxification and medication-assisted treatment. MAT is offered with Vivitrol and with Suboxone, each through its own intake line, and CARE notes openly that the cost of these medications can itself be a barrier to treatment. It also runs AWARE, a program for women built around the additional social stigma women face in addiction, and care coordination to hold the pieces together. Payment can be made through Medicare, private insurance or state funding.
