Founded in 1948, Apalachee Center is the largest provider of community mental health and substance use care in North Florida's Big Bend region, serving eight counties across 5,500 square miles. The center offers a full continuum from acute inpatient psychiatric care and residential treatment through intensive outpatient services and medication management, with a 24/7 mobile response team available. Apalachee Center holds the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval and provides a sliding fee scale — no one is denied access to services due to inability to pay.
