North Florida Evaluation and Treatment

North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center is a state-operated forensic residential facility in Gainesville, run by the Florida Department of Children and Families. It provides court-ordered evaluation and residential treatment for adults in the criminal justice system who have mental health and substance use needs. Admission is by referral through Florida's judicial system rather than by self-referral or family application, so the usual questions of insurance and cost do not apply here — but neither can a place be requested directly.
