About Bethesda Lutheran Services
Bethesda Lutheran Services has cared for children, youth and families in northwestern Pennsylvania since 1919, when it was incorporated as the Orphans' Home of the Pittsburgh Synod; it now reaches more than 7,000 children, youth and families. Its Meadville campus offers residential treatment, a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, Intensive Treatment Units staffed around the clock by specially trained staff, alternative education, partial hospitalization, and community- and school-based behavioral health services. The organization works with young people who have significant psychiatric needs, at child-to-staff ratios set by the level of care. Both public and private coverage are taken: Medicaid, Medicare, private and military insurance.
