Advantage Behavioral Health Systems is the community service board for north-east Georgia and the safety-net provider for ten counties — Clarke, Barrow, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Walton — with this site in Elberton. It provides residential and outpatient treatment for mental illness, substance use and intellectual and developmental disabilities, and explicitly serves uninsured and underinsured people with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorder or IDD. Its residential program, Advantage Classic City Recovery, takes men and women aged 18 and over, prioritizing pregnant women and people who inject drugs. The agency is CARF-accredited, its services are accessible in 170 languages, and it is moving to a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model. Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and state funding are accepted.

Newport Academy provides residential mental health and substance use treatment for adolescents and young adults ages 7–35 in Georgia. The program offers gender-responsive residential programming, intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP), and telehealth services. Newport Academy treats teen depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma and PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, and suicidal ideation, with a focus on co-occurring disorders. Newport Academy accepts private insurance and provides complimentary insurance verification.

Mary Hall Freedom Village is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Sandy Springs, Georgia (EIN 58-2238354) providing residential treatment and support for women 18 and older with a substance use disorder as a primary diagnosis, or who are chronically homeless. Founded nearly three decades ago, the organization operates five locations with a staff of about 60 and has served more than 20,000 clients, with admissions requiring a nursing assessment, a TB and syphilis test, and a 30-day medication supply for co-occurring disorders.

Willowbrooke at Tanner provides intensive outpatient (IOP) and detoxification in Villa Rica, GA. The program serves adults seeking recovery from substance use disorders The facility accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, military insurance and state-financed coverage.

The Extension is a licensed, nonprofit long-term residential recovery program in Marietta, Georgia for homeless men and women of Cobb County living with alcohol and other addictions. It operates a 78-bed campus for men and a 20-bed campus for women, with more than 25 years of service, combining group and individual counseling with education, life-skills training and job placement within weeks of arrival.

Dunwoody Recovery Place provides medically supervised drug and alcohol detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care in the Dunwoody area of Atlanta, treating substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions together rather than in sequence. Alongside trauma therapy and 12-step fellowship work it runs holistic nature-walk sessions, and its practical support goes further than most: case management, aftercare planning, and help with FMLA and short-term disability paperwork so clients can take medical leave without losing their job. Private and military insurance are accepted, and self-paying clients are taken.

Southeast Detox GA provides residential detoxification and addiction treatment in Rome, Georgia. The facility offers medically supervised detox with step-down residential programming, serving adults across northwest Georgia with structured recovery services including individual and group counseling.

HopeQuest Ministry Group is a Christ-centered addiction treatment program in Woodstock, Georgia, serving men with substance use disorders through residential and intensive outpatient programming. The program integrates 12-step recovery with biblical discipleship, offering individual and group counseling in a faith-based setting. HopeQuest describes its approach as addressing the spiritual, emotional and physical dimensions of addiction through clinically informed, biblically grounded care.

Newport Integrated Behavioral Health Care has provided behavioral health and addiction treatment across metropolitan Atlanta from its Decatur site since 1999, working with children, adolescents, adults, veterans and families. Services span psychiatric care, mental health treatment, medication for opioid use disorder and residential withdrawal management, which is available around the clock. The organization is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Medicaid, Medicare, private and military insurance, state funding and public assistance are accepted, with a sliding scale for self-pay.

The Recovery Village Atlanta is an Advanced Recovery Systems facility in Roswell, north of Atlanta, providing medical detox, residential rehab, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care, with a second campus in Stockbridge serving the south of the metro area. It treats adults for substance use alongside co-occurring conditions including PTSD and trauma-related disorders, and offers medication-assisted treatment; partial hospitalization is designed as the step down from the intensity of residential care. Private and military insurance are accepted.

WestCare Georgia provides residential substance use treatment in Carrollton, as part of WestCare — a worldwide family of non-profit organizations whose work spans treatment and rehabilitation, mental health and wellness, emergency support, housing, education and prevention, criminal justice programs, domestic violence services and support for veterans. WestCare Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and it describes every program as part of a continuum of person-centered, trauma-informed care. Military insurance is accepted.
