Fairfield County Opioid Treatment Programs

MCCA's McDonough House in Danbury, Connecticut provides intensive residential substance use treatment and medically monitored withdrawal management (ASAM 3.7 level of care). MCCA operates addiction treatment programs across western Connecticut, from inpatient care through outpatient clinics.

New Era Rehabilitation Center provides outpatient addiction treatment and mental health therapy at its Bridgeport and New Haven, Connecticut locations. Services include intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, medication-assisted treatment, psychiatry, and court-related substance use and DUI evaluations. The center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and military coverage.

Liberation Programs has helped Fairfield County families recover from addiction since 1971, offering outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment at its Stamford location on Main Street. The nonprofit operates a women's REACH program, mobile outreach, and residential beds for women with children through its Families in Recovery Program. Liberation also provides a men's inpatient program and medication-assisted treatment.

Connecticut Counseling Centers is a not-for-profit providing licensed outpatient substance use and mental health treatment for adults, and this is its Norwalk site. Medication-assisted treatment here covers all three FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder — methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone — delivered with medical, nursing, psychiatric and counseling support, and the organization has been expanding methadone access through a new opioid treatment program. Intensive outpatient programs run for substance use, mental health and co-occurring conditions, with gender-specific groups available, and bilingual staff serve Spanish-speaking clients. The organization is CARF-accredited, licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and funded in part by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Medicaid, Medicare, private and military insurance are accepted.
