Under the care and supervision of a skilled team of doctors, nurses and counselors, patients receive methadone treatment, drug counseling, education and more. Methadone is a synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine and other narcotics, but that does not produce the same "high" when used in proper doses under the care of a certified physician. Patients work with their treatment team to determine the correct dosage to minimize drug cravings and withdrawal symptoms, and are in control of how long they use methadone to overcome their opiate addiction.
