Advance Her Chance (AHC) for clean/sober living, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established to provide a safe, structured, and supportive living environment for women recovering from substance abuse/addiction to empower themselves as they transition to stable, productive, and respected members of society. Welcome to Advance Her Chance: Women Helping Women to Live drug/alcohol Free Lives Located in Blue Island, IL AHC was born out of a necessity in November of 2013 to build a recovery home for women on the Southside of Chicago wherein women help women through the recovery process and so much more. We aspire to provide positive exposure to a variety of methods and practices that contribute to healthy mental, physical, spiritual, and 12-step recovery modeled lifestyles. The AHC program incorporates a strong female influence of distinctive women in long standing and successful recovery of various occupations within the Chicago land area to help guide, inspire, and assist you on your new way of life.

AHC Offers On site drug and alcohol testing Community living skills Social Networking skills Prime location with easy access to transportation, shopping and employment opportunities Recovery Choose ONE 12 step program (AA/NA) Attend at least one 12 step meeting per day for the first 90 days Utilize the literature from your chosen fellowship Obtain a 12 step fellowship sponsor Work on the 12 steps with your sponsor Build a network of women in recovery Life Skills Attend AHC house meetings Attend educational seminars Participate in goal based mentoring program Volunteer - be an asset to society Employability, job & career development Personal & interdependent development Household management and care & meal planning on a budget
Admissions Process
Admission Requirements: Female 18 years or older Have 30 days or more abstinence from all alcohol/drug/mind-mood altering substances (clean/sober) prior to admission Be at minimal risk of severe withdrawl from alcohol/drug/mind-mood altering substances Be medically/mentally/emotionally stable Must be willing to commit to a 90 day stabilization adjustment period Be able to follow rules and manage daily living Intake Application must be completed
