Our Hope Association is a non-profit women's residential addiction treatment center in Grand Rapids that has worked with women for more than fifty years, since 1972. Its signature program is a 90-day long-term residential stay, and it gives priority to pregnant women and to mothers of minor children. Medicaid is accepted through Community Mental Health partners — a woman with Medicaid should contact her local CMH for approval before admission — and Kent County residents who are uninsured, on Medicaid or on the Kent Health Plan may qualify for financial assistance. Cigna, Medicare and state funding are also accepted.

Counseling Service·Outpatient Rehab

Journies Inc. at 700 36th Street SE, Suite 106 in Grand Rapids provides bilingual counseling in English and Spanish, offered both virtually and in person, with individual appointments available in Spanish. Its work is largely court-involved: substance use assessments, drug and alcohol education, drug screens and breathalyser testing, a First Offenders group covering automobile highway safety education, and an intensive outpatient program delivered within a trauma-informed framework with peer recovery support from bilingual staff with lived experience. Services here are self-pay, and assessment is recommended before starting education classes or counseling so the plan matches what the court or referrer requires.

Treatment Center

Guiding Light is a faith-based, nonprofit addiction recovery program in Grand Rapids, Michigan, serving men and women since 1929 with residential recovery, sober living, and job-placement support. Separate men's and women's recovery programs focus on community, structure, and peer support to help participants return to work and stable housing. All services are provided free of charge.
