Hampden County Mental Health Centers

CHD (Center for Human Development) provides behavioral health and substance use treatment from Chicopee, serving western Massachusetts and Connecticut with residential and outpatient programs and expanded telehealth. Its residential services include the Two Rivers Recovery Center for Women in Greenfield and the Iris Home, an intensive residential rehabilitation home for men. CHD describes itself as multicultural, multilingual and fluent in sign language, and holds a three-year CARF accreditation, renewed in 2024, covering behavioral health, child and youth services, and employment and community services. Both Medicaid and Medicare are taken, along with private and military insurance and state funding.

Gándara Mental Health Center in Springfield is a provider of outpatient mental health services. Their mission is to promote the well-being of Hispanics, African-Americans and other culturally diverse populations, through innovative, culturally competent behavioral health, prevention and educational services.

Avanzando Enhanced Residential Rehabilitation is a Gándara Center program in Ludlow, Massachusetts, treating women 18 and older with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. The 20-person program provides mental health and substance use treatment from a single team, including onsite medication-assisted treatment, plus postpartum care during and after pregnancy. It accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, state funding and military coverage.
