Austen Riggs Center is a nonprofit, open and voluntary residential psychiatric treatment program in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, for adults with complex psychiatric difficulties that have persisted despite prior treatment. Treatment begins with a six-week evaluation and treatment program combining intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy, therapeutic community life, family work, and psychological testing, with patients meeting four times a week with the same clinician. Keenan House is a residential addiction treatment programme in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, operated by the Brien Center, a community-based nonprofit with over 100 years of service in Berkshire County. The Brien Center provides acute care, addiction treatment, and mental health services across the county through programmes including a Community Behavioral Health Center, emergency services, child and adolescent care, and the Have Hope peer recovery initiative.
