TheVillage provides a spectrum of child welfare and residential programs, as well as mental health and prevention services that help children impacted by trauma from abuse, neglect and mental health issues.
The residential programs of theVillage are located in Rosemont, a suburban community that is a 30-minute drive from Philadelphia. The 43-acre, tree-lined campus provides a peaceful setting for experiencing healing and growth. TheVillage has embraced the Sanctuary Model of Trauma-Informed Care as an effective framework for helping children and families heal from traumas brought about by violence, neglect, addiction, poverty, and mental illness.
The Village was by far THE WORST residential treatment facility I’ve EVER been to. From the mental abuse from staff, to being quite literally put on a concoction of meds I was catatonic. I PLANNED an attempt in order to get myself to the emergency room, no staff called my parents AND I WAS IN A NECK BRACE. I called them from a psych hospital in which I stayed for a little over a month reporting the abuse I went through while at the village in the end my parents ended up signing me out and we went and got my stuff from the village together. So much of my belongings were stolen from me. If you genuinely care about your children and want them to get better DO NOT SEND THEM HERE !!
I was forcibly admitted here in 2015 by my parents alongside other institutions. It took mental strength to play through their system and get out in 6 months good behavior, I know I had it easy unlike other residents who had a much longer stay, but I pray this place gets shut down. I had chills just seeing the logo again, this was the facility that changed me. Don't think for a second any of that money goes towards the girls, it's all a scheme. The green logo is a symbol of greed.
