Stairways Behavioral Health provides addiction treatment in Erie, Pennsylvania, offering intensive outpatient and outpatient programs for adults and youth, alongside adult residential programs and a youth residential program. Stairways Behavioral Health has provided mental health and addiction care in Erie for more than sixty years. It was founded on 6 April 1961 by twenty-two members of the Erie Chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women, and named for the staircase clients climbed to reach it; today it serves more than 6,000 people a year. Its Residential Treatment Program for Adults is a 15-bed facility offering 24-hour supervised care for up to 30 days, alongside a youth residential program, state-licensed personal care homes for people with ongoing mental health needs, and an outpatient clinic. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, along with private insurance.
