Hilo Mental Health Centers

CARE Hawaii has provided outpatient mental health services in Hilo since 1999, for people living with mental illness, developmental delays and substance-related problems. It runs a partial hospitalization program of medically supervised therapeutic sessions focused on coping skills, crisis stabilization and medication management, with an AfterCare program for graduates of day treatment. Its Community Integration Services are a Medicaid-reimbursable service for QUEST Integration members who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and services are also open to people meeting the developmental-disability Medicaid Waiver criteria — with the Crisis Network Services Program covering those who do not qualify for the waiver. Medicaid, Medicare is accepted here, as are private and military insurance and state funding.
