Apex Community Care, formerly the AIDS Project of Greater Danbury, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Western Connecticut since the AIDS crisis began. Alongside HIV/AIDS services, the Torrington location provides intensive outpatient substance use and behavioral health treatment. Apex accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance.

Midwestern Connecticut Council of Alcoholism (MCCA) offers medically supervised withdrawal management in Torrington, followed by coordinated step-down into residential or intensive outpatient care rather than a discharge to nothing. Outpatient services include individual, group and family therapy. Medicare, private and military insurance and state funding are accepted.
