McAlister Institute, founded in 1977, is one of San Diego County's largest alcohol and drug treatment providers with 24 programs across the region. Its Escondido location on East Washington Avenue offers intensive outpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, with most programs accepting Medi-Cal (Medicaid). The nonprofit provider also accepts Medicare and military insurance.
