A certified free to enter 6 month therapeutic halfway house for indigent and homeless women. CARF certified, in Skillman NJ.
A free to enter sober living home for homeless or indigent women in Skillman New Jersey. Women must get a job after entry, and contribute part of their salary to the house. Therapy is offered, and women must attend 9 AA or NA meetings every week. A 6 month program.
This facility is now CLOSED. THANK YOU GOD!
I write this to attest to the abuses at this facilities, and others, which are perpetually inflicted on vulnerable communities of women with dependencies and addictions, seeking recovery from these abusive life circumstances.
I was a resident here for 10 months! They kept me here for two months longer than necessary (insurance fraud). I checked myself in to privately deal with my alcoholism. An all female facility; residents mandated by the courts to be there. I was not.
The MOST egregious offence I witnessed was the SEXUAL ABUSE of several residents. I say with clarity that the female counselors/perpetrators in question openly confessed to having served jail time themselves. I was disgusted and appalled both as a heterosexual woman and a ivy league, educated resident.
I am now 15 years sober. I will never forget the crime that was Crawford House. I credit the surrounding Princeton community for supporting me alone in my recover.
Institutions like Crawford be warned: There is ALWAYS one like me, who recovers sufficiently enough with the strength to tell someone and bear witness.
