Former Wham front-man George Michael will face yet another drugs possession and impaired driving charge after a July 4th incident in London.

Scotland Yard has announced that singer George Michael will face drugs (cannabis possession) and driving under the influence of drugs charges stemming from a July 4th incident during which he drove his Range Rover into the front door of a London photography shop.

He is due to face the court on August 24th.

Michael is no stranger to the British court system. He was sentenced in 2007 to 100 hours of community service and a 2 year driving ban after a very similar incident in which he piloted his vehicle under the influence of drugs into 3 parked cars and left the scene without notifying the owners, and in 2008 he was arrested by police on charges of possession of crack cocaine and marijuana.

In a magazine interview last year, Michael said that he had reduced his drug use, dropping from smoking 25 marijuana joints per day to only about 7 or 8.  Michael, who has sold more than 100 million albums as a solo artist, said he’s unapologetic about his lifestyle, commenting, "People want to see me as tragic with all the cottaging and drug-taking. I don't see them as weaknesses any more. It's just who I am.
