Youth Care of Utah

This residential treatment center for teenagers is located in Draper, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. Youth Care accepts teenagers ages 11-18 with emotional or behavioral problems - drug or alcohol addiction, depression, and other mental health issues.

Youth Care’s residential treatment program for teenagers combines an accredited school program, experiential therapy, behavior modification, and if necessary, substance abuse counselling.

Tuition at Youth Care of Utah includes all therapy sessions, psychiatrist visits, the Youth Care academic program, recreational activities, room and board.

Residential Treatment Programs for Teenagers

Youth Care of Utah offers adolescent rehab treatment programs including dual diagnosis (treating a combination of mental health and/or substance abuse issues).

Residential Treatment Center

Youth Care Residential Treatment Center offers an intensive continuum of care for adolescent boys and girls between the ages of 11-18.

Youth Care's strengths are the small size (14 students) and strong therapeutic program. As part of this strong therapeutic program, students at Youth Care receive three individual therapy sessions per week, five group therapy sessions per week, a family therapy session each week, and a psychiatric visit each week.

Students also participate in an accredited school program, recreational therapy, behavior modification, and if necessary, substance abuse counseling.

Youth Care is also a psychiatric residential treatment center addressing such issues as depression, anxiety, and self-injurious behavior. The cost for this program is $480* per day. Many times this cost is covered by health insurance or there are student loans available.

Day Treatment Programs

The outpatient day treatment programs provide the same therapeutic care as the residential programs, however, students live with families at night and on weekends. Therapists support families as they implement family rules, provide important feedback, and rebuild family dynamics. Students in this program attend from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. This program allows students to apply the new principles they are learning in treatment to their home and daily living situations.

Transition Home Programs

This program provides the option to live with a licensed foster care family within the community and attend Youth Care during the weekday. This program is designed as an extension of the above residential program for students who need a realistic transition before returning home to their families. Again, students continue to receive therapeutic support throughout this placement but are given extra privileges and opportunities to implement newfound therapeutic skills and self-management techniques.
