A connected campus, where students walk from one building to another makes the variety and wholeness of the experience complete.
From the soaring barn-like ceilings of the library, to a modern fitness center and art and music studios, Swift River offers students a state of the art campus built upon 200 years of history.
This unique, therapeutic boarding school is also located 20 miles from the "Massachusetts Five College Area": Smith College, Mount Holyoke, The University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst College and Hampshire College.

Swift River believes that the balance and integrity it strives to establish in the lives of their students must also be manifest in the lives of the professionals running the academy. Teaching by example is not merely the best way, but the only way!
Swift River refines and strengthens the unique gifts of the individual and its academic curriculum encompasses the practical skills essential for living in a complex, often demanding and increasingly diverse society.
Swift River believes in the innate goodness and potential of young people and families. It believes that respect for the dignity, integrity, and uniqueness of the individual gives rise to hope. That our human ability to rise to the challenges of self discovery can be founded in honesty as the basis for confidence and trust, freedom and responsibility, love and abundance. That dishonesty and fear in response to difficult or painful experiences breads destructive and self-perpetuating patterns that result in scarcity, disconnection and more pain.
The positive community culture at the Swift River Academy fosters positive relationships between peers where students help each other to enhance their personal growth, and where experienced students assume important leadership roles and responsibilities.
