In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven

Matthew 5:16

Faith without works is not truly much faith at all. Rejoice in the Lord, and lead others to see your good works so they also may feel the love of the Lord!

The Christian 12 steps are no magic formula, but a true and committed working of the steps leads you to good works, prayer and right thinking, and they do serve as an excellent framework for a Christian life, for anyone!

But the key word here is WORK! Faith alone is not enough. Work for the Lord and feel His reward, in this life and the next. Make amends for those that you have harmed, but also for Him. Lead others to the 12 steps so that they may draw near to God's healing power.

Use God's love and strength so that you may serve Him, and be happy, and be free from addiction.

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

We are not here to sit around, and faith alone is never enough. God has plans for us, plans for us to prosper and be happy, but also plans for us to do good works. When we fail to live up to this plan, we fail ourselves as we fail Christ.

Thankfully, God does not ask of us other than to live as good Christians, so that we may be happy and at peace as we spread the word of God and act with love to all we meet. It's a pretty good deal!

Good works are an essential element of the Christian 12 steps, as they are of the Christian life. So get out and praise God! Live for Him, with Him, and for always, and find peace from addiction.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do
what it says.

James 1:22

Our relationship with the Lord should never be passive. We do not only take from Him, we must rejoice in Him, celebrate Him, and live His word in daily life, every day.

And this means works, good ones to be exact! Work the Christian 12 steps well and you will serve the Lord in thought and deed and you will feel His reward. You will feel His reward in this life through peace and happiness and through an end to the pains of addiction, and you will live the glory of the Lord in heaven with everlasting life.

The Lord gives us so much, and our part of the bargain is simply faith, humility and service in the name of the Lord. Not much to ask.

Live for Christ, be happy, and live forever with Him…pretty good deal!
