Find rehabs and addiction treatment in Montana

Alcoholism has long been a problem in Montana, and recent years have sadly brought an increase in crystal meth addiction. Prescription pain pill abuse is also a significant challenge, as are to a lesser extent heroin and cocaine. Montana offers limited insurance parity legislation, and for the most part, insurance companies in Montana are not required to fund treatment for drug and alcohol addictions equally to physical health treatment. The low population density and rural nature of the populace also limits available drug treatment options.

There are drug and alcohol treatment programs available though, and in addition to private drug rehabs, there are several affordable programs. Non-profit drug rehabs will generally offer care to all in need, regardless of an ability to pay for services rendered.

The Montana Chemical Dependency Bureau is responsible for state-funded addiction treatment services within the state. Contact the Bureau's information line on 888-866-0328.
