Although many students are capable of solid academic performance, some will need a variety of academic support services available to them at Oakley. They may have let their academics slide over the last semester or two and need some extra time to rebuild skill sets. They may struggle with math or reading. They may have life long struggles with organization and learning solid study skills.

Oakley assists their student’s needs with a series of services built into the school day, available after school and in the evenings. Here is a list of what can be provided to the students:

  • Two Study Halls are built into the average student’s trimester to give them ample opportunity to address homework and seek out academic support throughout each day.
  • An Academic Advisor is assigned to each student and Oakley encourages students to reach out to their advisor when they need extra assistance with school work. Students at Oakley can rely on their advisor to support them throughout the year.
  • A scheduled Study Lab is provided for students who may need additional subject or skill support at the beginning of enrollment. This study lab has a dedicated tutor who works individually with the students. Scheduled into the lab are subject skill building, organizational skills, and confidence building in specific subject areas.
  • A Math Lab is offered weekly for two hours. Students can schedule this during their evening free time and part of their evening study hall and use this opportunity to ask for assistance with their math skills and assignments.
  • A Reading Specialist works with students who have mild dyslexia, processing concerns, or struggle with reading and writing skills. This is a contracted academic support service and the only academic service provided at Oakley with an additional cost above the monthly tuition.

Assessments are provided as a free public health service and all information is held strictly confidential.
