Academics
As a key component to its integrated program, Academy at Swift River offers a college preparatory high school curriculum which focuses on reuniting students with their learning, and to connect that learning to the world at large.
Students at Swift River are bright and capable, but their role as "student" has usually been lacking from their identity for quite some time. Swift River has made it part of its mission to enable teenagers to get back on track with placement at their first and second choice of schools upon completion.
Swift River's charge is to provide students with ample opportunities to learn and apply the academic skills which they will need at university and beyond, while inviting students to partake in the wealth of knowledge scholastic curricula can offer. In the true spirit of a liberal arts college preparatory education, we guide our students in discovering their own answers to life's tough questions:
- "Who am I?"
- "What is interdependence?"
- "How does the world work and what is my place in it?"
The Academy at Swift River program fosters this spirit of inquiry by combining rigorous college-preparatory academics with many opportunities to observe, test, and integrate new knowledge, skills, and ways of being.
