Cedric Benson, The Chicago Bear's first round draft choice in 2005, has been ordered to install an alcohol ignition interlock device as a condition of his bail release on DUI charges.

Prosecutors say that the court order is a common pre-trial stipulation for anyone facing multiple DUI charges, and does not indicate guilt or innocence. Benson faces alcohol related charges stemming from a drunken boating arrest on Lake Travis (where he also faces charges of evading arrest) and a June DUI traffic arrest in Austin.

Benson must install the device within 72 hours. Alcohol ignition interlock devices, once installed, prevent an impaired driver from even starting a car.

The Bears released Benson after his second DUI arrest.
