What does it mean if my urine is very dark sometimes in the morning after I drink a lot? I am scared because it says this can be a sign of liver disease but I am 19 and I have only been drinking for 3 years. After I drink I also have really bad BO that I can’t wash off in the shower.

Hey - thanks for your question it's a good one. Dark urine means that your body is ridding itself of toxins and that your intake of healthy fluids is too low. Dehydration is the biggest cause of hangovers. Body odor that isn't resolved by showering is a bad sign - it indicates that alcohol is coming out of your pores and that your body is struggling with something it doesn't want in it's system.

It's unusual that a person of your age would experience these symptoms. My suggestion is that you consider the obvious - if you're only experiencing these symptoms when you drink "a lot" then um, don't drink a lot. Invest in other outlets. If you can drink in moderation and enjoy it then great - if body odor is a recurring outcome, well then hells bells, man - nobody wants to hang out with a guy who smells bad and nothing is worth that.

Go see your doctor and get a physical to be on the safe side - and then accept what your body is telling you.
