- The final step of the 12 steps is one of good works – carrying the message of recovery through word and actions to others in need.
There’s a lot of wisdom in the 12 steps. Those at AA and those preaching the Christian 12 steps know that a lifetime of sobriety only works when it’s based on a foundation of good works – just like a Christian life.
Take your mind of your own hunger by working to ease another’s burden.
Make spiritual amends for the wrongdoings of your past by the right-doings of today and leave guilt and despair behind forever. You can’t change the past but you can help to change the future for the better - for yourself and for those around you.
Read the Bible and get inspired toward good works and a more fulfilling life; and talk to your minister or pastor about getting involved in good works today – for no matter how much you give to others, you’ll always get much more in return.
